The fun, loving, and energetic Paula Abdul will sadly not be returning to the next season of American Idol due to not being able to come to an agreement with Fox on her financial terms.
Exactly how much Paula wanted and how much Fox offered is still not clear, but sources reveal that Abdul was asking for a cool $20 million to continue with Idols, and Fox just wouldn’t budge.
She even refused a 30% raise on Fox’s offer which would have became a eight-figure multi-year deal for Abdul.
Abdul even tweeted about this dilemma:

I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent,but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day 1 become an international phenomenon.
What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me
It truly has been breathtaking, especially over the past month
I do without any doubt have the BEST fans in the entire world and I love you all
Fox also responded to Abdul’s tweets:
“Paula Abdul has been an important part of the American Idol family over the last eight seasons, and we are saddened that she has decided not to return to the show. While Paula will not be continuing with us, she’s a tremendous talent and we wish her the best.”
So much drama! Will they be replacing Paula with someone else or just stick to the other three judges?
