So You Want To Be A Vampire For Halloween?

by OhEmGee on October 3, 2009

Hey there everyone!

Aren’t you eager to dress up just like your favorite Vampire for Halloween? Well in this article we will go over just about everything you need to look just like The Twilight Saga‘s Edward Cullen, Bella Swan or any other vampire!

First and foremost, you’re going to want to buy yourself a nice pair of either golden brown contacts or crimson colored contacts. By wearing the golden brown contacts (topaz, amber, honey, or rich caramel) you’re going for the non-thirsty sweet and innocent vampire look. And by sporting the haunting crimson colored contacts you’re presenting a blood-thirsty vampire, spooky!

Here are some really suitable and reasonably priced contacts we found for the golden brown vampire look:

These Twilight contact lenses will give you the seductive, golden amber eyes that you need to complete your vampire costume. Whether you want to be desirable like Edward Cullen, beautiful like Rosalie, graceful like Alice, or strong like Emmett, our Twilight contacts will give you that perfect finishing touch.

If you’d like to read more about the contacts or order them, follow the links below:

  • First contacts
  • Second contacts
  • Third contacts
  • Note: If you have a PinkHeart boutique around your city, make sure to check it out. That’s where we’re getting our fairy brown eyes from! The retail price at PinkHeart for the golden brown contacts are only $19.95 for a pair, they also sell the solution and tray for $5 bucks!

Now for the ferocious and absolutely spine-chilling crimson contacts:

    - Check out Vampire red contacts valued at $32.95 per lens by clicking here!

    - There also is Blood red contacts valued at $44.99 per lens which you can check out by here ($65.95) or here ($29.95 per lens)

Enough with the eyes, let’s go over the make-up and hairstyling!

Make sure you pick up a nice bottle of either pale foundation over in your moms make-up bags ;] or your local make-up selling superstore! Or you can purchase a Vampire make-up set which really isn’t worthy purchasing, since the colors can appear to be too bold.

For your hair, if you’re going for the Robert Pattinson a.k.a Edward Cullen type hair look, you want to make sure your hair length is relatively close to Rob’s. His hair is not all one length and is thinned out in certain areas. Your best chance at achieving his haircut is going to a professional hairstylist who can help you achieve it. (Print a picture of Rob’s hair to show your hairstylist exactly how you want it.)

After your haircut is complete and you’re ready to start styling your hair you should put some pomade (strong hair sculpting gel) in your hair and evenly distribute the pomade throughout your hair. (Note: You can also use any rich fiber-like hair gel which will help thicken, texturize, and increase fullness to your hair.) First you want to take a brush, take your bangs and spin the brush so that your hair is standing up with a top curve. Then, for the sides you need to take a comb and brush the hair up and to the side of your head, giving your hair a little volume on the side of your head. You will also need to slightly tousle your hair to get the full volume and look of his hair in the movie. (His hair in real-life isn’t that much different, the only difference is that it isn’t nearly as neat as it is in the movie, tousle your hair much more and run your hands through your hair numerous times for his real-life look.)

Now, for Kristen Stewart’s hair in Twilight, her hair is very thin and messy/curly/wavy. Basically there are three different ways of achieving a KStew worthy hairstyle. For the messy/wavy look, when you come out of the towel dry your hair slightly, then add some mouse (or any other scrunch product which will help hold or create the curl) to your hair and scrunch your hair with your fists which will give it a messy and wavy look. As for her curly hair it all you will need is a curling iron and some hair spray. First, curl your hair around the curling iron and leave it on for a moment and continue doing that until you’ve achieved your desired amount of curls. After you’ve achieved your curly hair goal you should add some hair spray to save all your hard work from becoming de-curled. (Note: It also looks like Kristen was using extensions in the Twilight film, if not, girlfriend has somehow magically got great thick hair on the ends of her hair.)

    Onto the outfits!

The entire Cullen family always looks good in what they wear and always own it. They wear clothes in the movie that you can most probably find at Urban Outfitters, Macys, any brand names like that. And of course if you’re going to be Alice don’t forget to wear her ballerina shoes!

This is where we’re going to stop to make sure that you also put in your thoughts and imagination into making your costume the best it can be.
