David Letterman Apologizes To His Wife

by Bethany on October 6, 2009

David Letterman took last night to apologize to those involved in his recent scandle, including his wife, of whom he said “Now the other thing is my wife, Regina. She has been horribly hurt by my behavior, and when something happens like that, if you hurt a person and it’s your responsibility, you try to fix it.”

CBS claims the sex was before he got married, but they still have been dating for at least 6 years, and it was during that time.

Letterman made himself the butt of most of his jokes last night, after stating “Last week on the show, I told a little story about being blackmailed. I wasn’t going to talk about it anymore, but seems like people want to talk about it.”

The audience erupted in laughter after Letterman quipped “I mean, I’ll be honest with you folks, right now, I would give anything to be hiking on the Appalachian Trail. I got in the car this morning — and the navigation lady wasn’t speaking to me.”

Do you think Letterman is sincere with his apology or just looking for a way out of his current debacle? Tell us what you think.
