Twilight‘s superstar Kristen Stewart has gotten real famous, real fast since last year. But Kristen very clearly states, in more interviews than we can remember, that she does not want to always be seen as “Bella”, though she does love the character very much. She would very much like to be known as her own individual person, and not as “that girl who plays Bella”.
That is one of the main reasons why Kristen signed on for a very different role, in a very different movie, The Runaways. And now that filming for The Runaways is over, and the Eclipse shooting is just about to wrap up at the end of this month, Kristen’s busy days aren’t even close to ending! This actress will have her hands busy for quite awhile, still, as she has just signed on for a brand new movie, An American Girl.
This new flick of hers will be directed by actor James Woods (Huh. Yet another actor who’s turned to directing movies intead of starrin in them!), and is due to be released in 2010.
But wait, there’s much more! It’s not hard to believe that KStew could star in any movie she wanted nowadays, but how cool is it that she actually got hooked up for the gig before superstardom? Woods talked to Kristen back in 2008, and told her about his film ambitions. He said that he didn’t want to make his movie with anyone but her. Aw! How sweet is that!
Woods gave KStew the script for An American Girl and after reading it, she’s been urging to get the movie made and has accepted to star in it. This is where her popularity comes in handy, because like they hoped, it’s going to get produced!
Woods talked to ComingSoon.net and spoke to them about the film’s plot synopsis:” The film is about a woman who, after high school finds herself wasting her life drinking and drugging in a small town in Indiana. During one particular night of boozing, she has sex with a guy in a quarry. She gets taped doing it on somebody’s phone and in a small town, her reputation is ruined and on a drunken whim, she joins the Marines.”
