Anderson Cooper Rescues Injured Boy From Looters In Haiti

In the midst of Anderson Cooper covering a story for CNN a boy was hit in the head by a concrete block, the silver fox rushed to help the boy. Here’s what he wrote on his blog:

I saw him collapse. More chunks of concrete were being thrown at the looters on the roof. The injured boy couldn’t get up. He’d try and then collapse again. Blood was pouring from his head. He was conscious but had no control over his body. I was afraid someone on the roof would see him lying there and throw another cinder block piece onto him. I was afraid he’d get killed. No one seemed to be helping him.

I ran to where he was struggling, and picked him up off the ground. I brought him to a spot about a hundred feet away. I could feel his warm blood on my arms. I stood him up, but he was clearly unable to walk. He wiped his bloody face, and I tried to reassure him. He had no idea where he was, and he clearly couldn’t walk, so I picked him up again and handed him over to someone behind that makeshift barricade. Tony, the American businessman, gave the boy a wet towel. He was then taken away by someone else. We don’t know what happened to him.

I hope he’s ok.

Conan O’Brien Releases Statement On Late-Night Situation

Redheaded comedian Conan O’Brien has released the following statement regarding the situation and his status with NBC. Check out what he had to say (below)!

“People of Earth: In the last few days, I’ve been getting a lot of sympathy calls, and I want to start by making it clear that no one should waste a second feeling sorry for me. For 17 years, I’ve been getting paid to do what I love most and, in a world with real problems, I’ve been absurdly lucky. That said, I’ve been suddenly put in a very public predicament and my bosses are demanding an immediate decision.

“Six years ago, I signed a contract with NBC to take over The Tonight Show in June of 2009. Like a lot of us, I grew up watching Johnny Carson every night and the chance to one day sit in that chair has meant everything to me. I worked long and hard to get that opportunity, passed up far more lucrative offers, and since 2004 I have spent literally hundreds of hours thinking of ways to extend the franchise long into the future. It was my mistaken belief that, like my predecessor, I would have the benefit of some time and, just as important, some degree of ratings support from the prime-time schedule. Building a lasting audience at 11:30 is impossible without both.

“But sadly, we were never given that chance. After only seven months, with my Tonight Show in its infancy, NBC has decided to react to their terrible difficulties in prime-time by making a change in their long-established late night schedule.

“Last Thursday, NBC executives told me they intended to move the Tonight Show to 12:05 to accommodate the Jay Leno Show at 11:35. For 60 years the Tonight Show has aired immediately following the late local news. I sincerely believe that delaying the Tonight Show into the next day to accommodate another comedy program will seriously damage what I consider to be the greatest franchise in the history of broadcasting. The Tonight Show at 12:05 simply isn’t the Tonight Show. Also, if I accept this move I will be knocking the Late Night show, which I inherited from David Letterman and passed on to Jimmy Fallon, out of its long-held time slot. That would hurt the other NBC franchise that I love, and it would be unfair to Jimmy.

“So it has come to this: I cannot express in words how much I enjoy hosting this program and what an enormous personal disappointment it is for me to consider losing it. My staff and I have worked unbelievably hard and we are very proud of our contribution to the legacy of The Tonight Show. But I cannot participate in what I honestly believe is its destruction. Some people will make the argument that with DVRs and the Internet a time slot doesn’t matter. But with the Tonight Show, I believe nothing could matter more.

“There has been speculation about my going to another network but, to set the record straight, I currently have no other offer and honestly have no idea what happens next. My hope is that NBC and I can resolve this quickly so that my staff, crew, and I can do a show we can be proud of, for a company that values our work.

“Have a great day and, for the record, I am truly sorry about my hair; it’s always been that way.

Another daytime talk show bites the dust!

After 5 years, Tyra Banks has announced that the current 5th season of The Tyra Show will be its last! So sad, now who are we going to get our daily craze from?!

Tyra writes on her website: “This will be the last season of The Tyra Show. I’ve been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past 5 years. My next huge steps will allow me to reach more women and young girls to help us all feel as fierce as we truly are.” And that, “There’s a lot cooking right now and a lot of fire burning in my heart. And I salute you my amazing family of viewers; without you there never would have been a Tyra Show. I really love you all.” Aw, how sweet!

As of now, Tyra is focusing on her production company, Bankable Studios, she’s planning on building “positive images of women to the big screen.” You go Tyra!

Taylor Lautner Brings In Saturday Night Live Killer Ratings!

If you didn’t tune this past weekend to Taylor Lautner‘s hosting gig on Saturday Night Live, you missed out! Lautner put on a great show by really showing off his acting and karate skills! (We posted all of his skits here).

Not only did Tay kill it on the show, he also brought in killer ratings for SNL! The show hosted by Taylor featured musical guest Bon Jovi, which averaged a 5.1/1.2 rating/share in the metered-market households — making his appearance on SNL the highest ratings for the show this season, beating out his love interest Taylor Swift who hosted earlier this year. (All details including viewers and age demographics will not be available until Thursday).

But, does this all even surprise you? He is the Lautinator!

Ashlee Simpson Let Go From Melrose Place!

With the new season of Melrose Place just kicking off, there’s already been confirmations of cast members getting the boot.

The two cast members getting the boot this time around happened to be Ashlee Simpson and Colin Egglesfield, Ashlee plays Violet Foster and Colin plays Auggie Kirkpatrick. If you watched Melrose Place this week, Colin is the guy who Ashlee desperately tries to get into the pants of by having him help make her “bed”, no surprise there.

Here is what the show’s executive producer Todd Slavkin said —

What was behind the decision to let Ashlee and Colin go?

TODD SLAVKIN: Well, we always knew that this murder mystery would end in episode 12. And we always knew that [Ashlee's] character of Violet would be instrumental in that as a suspect, and [Colin's character of] Augie as well. And once that murder mystery was solved, she would go on her way. That was the original plan going into the development of the show.

So it was always the plan for Ashlee to leave after episode 12?

SLAVKIN: Yes. Because we felt that once the murder mystery was resolved, the tone of the show was going to shift into a much more fun, romantic, sexy upbeat kind of show, and [her] character would move on.

Is it fair to say that if either of those characters clicked you would’ve found a way to keep them?

SLAVKIN: Well, you never know when you go along. But in the end, we felt like it was right [decision].

How did Ashlee and Colin take the news?

SLAVKIN: They’re total professionals and they took it like professionals. When you go into a show you never know what’s going to evolve and what the possibilities are. But because they knew ahead of time [that leaving was a possibility], it wasn’t a complete shock.

Hmm.. Do you think there was actual plans to let the two go or do you think there’s something else going on?

2009 Scream Awards Winners List!

Spike TV’s 2009 Scream Awards took place last night at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles and of course the main talk of the night was Twilight! The two-hour show will premiere on Spike TV on Tuesday, October 27th, can the wait be any longer?!

Taylor Lautner introduced brand new clips of The Twilight Saga: New Moon which drove the fandom absolutely crazy on Twitter!

Rumors started earlier in the week that Kristen Stewart was going to attend the show, but after pictures of her were taken at the airport on her way to Los Angeles the speculations grew even stronger. There was no sightings of her at the show but we have a feeling that Spike TV might be planning something extra for the premiere day.

There once was a little boy who floated in the sky and caused obscene panic. He became real famous in a matter of hours and landed on Larry King Live the very same day… Then he royally f—ed up on national television. That 6 year-old boys name is Falcon Heene.

Bones has the flu!

And the flu pandemic claims yet another victim!

This time, it’s actor David Boreanaz from the Fox series Bones who is sick!

Monday, Bones creator Hart Hanson posted this tweet:

“First time in Bones history we are shut down from production. Damn swine flu! That’s gonna cut into Christmas hiatus!”

Which leaves us to think that the sick star may have caused enough of a scare on the set to temporarily halt the shooting, while they clear things up. But it’s perfectly understandable! Swine flu is very serious, and many celebs have caught it, starting with Mitchell Musso back in July/August.

A rep from the show later confirmed that, “David (Boreanaz) is out with the flu and the show shut down today since he was in every scene. We hope to resume production tomorrow.” This worried everyone in production because they weren’t told which flu David was sick with.

Hart trying to clear rumors up updated his Twitter with, “Oops! There is no indication that Boreanaz has swine flu. We expect him back tomorrow. I’m now going out to get swine flu myself in atonement.”

Glad to hear that! Hope everyone in production stays flu-free. Remember, always wash your hands!
